A Guide to An Idiot (or "When Will I Ever Learn?")

So after reading this (be careful if you have PMT!) I scuttled off to Waterstones to avail myself of Neris and India's Idiot-proof Diet. It's a diet, but it wasn't proof against this idiot.

Basically, it's Atkins. And yes, they did lose weight and they look great. But still... I read it until the start of phase two of the diet. At which point they recommend that you stay on phase 1 of the diet until you only have a stone to lose. Ahaha (shuffles uncomfortably).

I am still considering whether to give it a go.

Happy New Year Fatfighters, by the way. This is the year.

And FF2, thanks for the party - great night. Lovely to meet FF1. You both look great and I begin to understand why Fatfighters is slowing down.

I started this diet 10 days ago, I'm going OK so far but am still undecided as to its long term success...

Welcome to Fatfighters, Narcissa.

Narcissa's blog, http://thelastdiet2007.blogspot.com has a link to http://www.pig2twig.co.uk/
which is India and Neris's site about the book.

Is it just me, or is India really, genuinely, intensely annoying and, well, a bit smug?

I haven't looked at the blog, but I remember being annoyed with India years ago when she used to write for The Observer. However, the book is great. One of my favourite lines so far (albeit not original) is: "Past forty, you need to choose between your arse and your face."

Another, from Neris: "I've had the Zone Diet delivered to my door every day for two months, only to eat the perfectly proportioned food as snacks between meals."

I am not sure if I would call India completely annoying or smug... I think she is trying to be postitive and inspiring. The voice she uses in the book, seems to be close to how I imagine she is in real life, whether that is someone you would find hard to take after a while is another matter!!
The book has been a good read too, much more interesting than my 'last one' which was completely boring 'How The Rich Get Thin', Jana Klauer.
